Organisational structure

The Polish Accreditation Committee consists of up to hundred members appointed by the minister responsible for higher education from among candidates holding at least the academic degree of doctor proposed by the senates of higher education institutions, the Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland, the Conference of Vocational Schools in Poland, the Students’ Parliament of the Republic of Poland (the President of the PSRP is a member of the PKA by law), national academic associations and employers’ organisations.

The Committee’s bodies are as follows The President and the Committee’s Presidium. The Committee shall be composed of 8 sections operating in the area of scientific disciplines, each of which shall consist of at least four members, including three with the highest scientific qualifications – the academic title of professor or the academic degree of doktor habilitowany and a representative of employers’ organisations. The Commission shall also cooperate with external experts. The Presidium of the PKA shall be composed of the President, the Secretary-Deputy President, the President of the Students’ Parliament of the Republic of Poland, Representative of employers’ organisations, the Chair of the Section for Teacher Education and eight chairs of sections. Administrative support for the PKA shall be provided by its Bureau.
