Plenary Session of the Polish Accreditation Committee

According to paragraph 5 of the PKA Statute, “At its plenary sessions, the Committee in particular:

  • adopts the mission, strategy, and quality policy;
  • adopts the statute and its amendments;
  • adopts the Code of Ethics and its amendments;
  • appoints the Ethics Team;
  • summarizes the results of its work.”

On March 20, 2025, in Warsaw, a Plenary Session of the Polish Accreditation Committee (PKA) took place, during which a draft amendment to the PKA Statute was presented, followed by a resolution to amend Resolution No. 4/2018 of the Polish Accreditation Committee dated December 13, 2018.

As part of the adopted schedule of the Session, the PKA Secretary – Dr. hab. Jakub Brdulak delivered a speech on the evaluation of joint programms according to the European Approach – PKA’s experiences with the ex-ante evaluation of the BASUS program, and the President of the Committee presented a Report on PKA’s activities in 2024.

The meeting concluded with a discussion among the Committee members on the need to introduce changes to the Code of Ethics dated October 6, 2009 (consolidated text including amendments introduced by the resolution of the Polish Accreditation Committee No. 1/2012 dated January 30, 2012, and by the resolution of the Polish Accreditation Committee No. 1/2013 dated March 6, 2013).

The Plenary Session was preceded by the Ceremony of Awarding Certificates of Excellence in Education by PKA, which was attended by invited guests: the Deputy Secretary of State at the Ministry of Science and Higher Education – Prof. Dr. hab. inż. Maria Mrówczyńska, the Chair of the Standing Subcommittee for Science and Higher Education – Dr. Dorota Olko, as well as representatives of the universities conducting the distinguished study programms.
