On October 4, this year, a meeting of representatives of quality assurance agencies from the Visegrad Group (V4QA Forum) took place at the Bureau of the Polish Accreditation Committee in Warsaw.
The Polish Accreditation Committee is hosting the event due to its assumption of the presidency of the V4 Quality Assurance Forum as of July 1, 2024.
During the meetings, various topics were discussed, including the European Degree, the significance of micro-credentials, issues related to research and doctoral education in light of the ESG (Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area). Additionally, participants reviewed the preliminary results of the QA-FIT project: “The Future of the ESG” and addressed quality assurance in the context of cross-border higher education. The meeting concluded with reflections on potential future cooperation within the V4QA Forum.
The agencies were represented by:
- The Hungarian agency MAB (Magyar Felsőoktatási Akkreditációs Bizottság) – Prof. Valéria Csépe (President of MAB) and Dr. Péter Levente Lakatos (Director of International Affairs);
- The Czech agency NAB (Národní Akreditační Úřad Pro Vysoké Školstvi) – Prof. Jiří Lach (Member of the Board) and Martina Vidláková (Head of Quality Assurance and Evaluation);
- The Slovak agency SAAVS (Slovenská Akreditačná Agentúra Pre Vysoké Školstvo) – Prof. Robert Redhammer (Chair of the Executive Board) and Dr. Andrea Zacharová (Head of Accreditation Department);
- The Polish Accreditation Committee (PKA) – Prof. Janusz Uriasz (President of PKA), Prof. Jakub Brdulak (Secretary of PKA), Prof. Ariadna Strugielska (Chair’s Representative for the European Degree), Jolanta Urbanik (Chair’s Representative for Micro-credentials).
Representatives of the PKA Bureau also attended the event: Małgorzata Zdunek (acting Director of the Bureau), Karolina Martyniak, and Grzegorz Kołodziej, who are responsible for organizing international cooperation within the Committee’s Bureau.
